In 2023, Votre Group proudly collaborated with Nonchalant and the Kinaway Chamber of Commerce to deliver the Victorian Aboriginal Business Awards (VABA) — a landmark event honouring the outstanding achievements, innovation, and resilience of Aboriginal businesses and entrepreneurs across Victoria.

Hosted at The Timber Yard, the evening served as both a celebration and a platform for connection — bringing together community leaders, business owners, creatives, and changemakers united in their commitment to progress, inclusion, and long-term impact.

Votre Group partnered with Nonchalant to lead creative production, event coordination, visual storytelling, and curation, shaping an experience that honoured cultural heritage while showcasing contemporary excellence. From the design of the stage and ambient lighting to the rhythm of the program and transitions between segments, the event was choreographed to reflect the strength, depth, and beauty of Aboriginal enterprise and creativity.

The visual identity of the evening drew inspiration from connection to Country — light and shadow representing the meeting of tradition and modernity, growth and grounding. Subtle native-inspired textures, organic palettes, and projection mapping wove together a narrative of evolution and empowerment, creating an environment that was both reverent and forward-looking.

Visual mapping by @jem_bray brought a dynamic layer to the storytelling — transforming the venue with motion, pattern, and light that responded to key moments throughout the awards.
